Swine Flu - Important Information.




Do you have a High Temperature above 38 degrees plus one or more of the following symptoms?
                                   
   -  Cough                      -  Headache                                    
   -  Sore Throat              -  Aching Muscles
   -  Vomitting/Diarrhoea    -  Limb/ Joint Pain

DO NOT come to the surgery if you have flu like symptoms and are concerned you may have swine flu.

        The National Pandemic Flu Service has been launched.
             If you feel like you may have swine flu, contact:

                           Contact your doctor directly
                                    IF:

            -   You have a serious underlying illness.
            -   You are pregnant.
            -   You have a sick child under 1 year old.
            -   Your condition suddenly becomes much worse.
            -   Your condition is till getting worse after 7 days.
                           ( 5 days for a child).

General hygiene can help to reduce the transmission of all viruses, including the swine flu virus.  This includes:

  -  Covering your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze -  
     using a tissue when possible.

  -  Disposing of dirty tissues promptly and carefully.

  -  Maintain good basic hygine. i.e. Wash your hands frequently with
     soap and water.

  -  Clean hard surfaces (i.e door handles) frequently using a normal
     cleaning product.
