Booking an Appointment

Opening Hours
The surgery is now open from 8.00am until 8.00pm every day, including weekends and ALL bank holidays.  We now remain open throughout lunchtimes too.   Outside these times, there is an emergency service called Frendoc. Please click on the "Emergency and Out of Hours" link for more information about this service.

Booking appointments
Surgery and clinic attendance is by appointment only. The surgery operates an appointment system for booking with either a Doctor, Specialist Nurse, Nurse or a Health Care Assistant.

The majority of appointments will become available on the same day and these can be booked from 8.00am onwards on the day. The reception staff will do their best to offer you a time that is convenient for you.

If you find that your appointment is no longer necessary, or you cannot make it; please cancel it.

If there is a patient with an emergency or serious problem, we will give them priority. Each day there is also an "On-Call" Doctor who deals with emergencies on the day. These are for urgent problems only and the Doctor may be called out on an urgent home visit. If there is a delay, please be patient, on another occasion it might be you that needs the extra time.

When you wish to see a Doctor, you do not have to see the Doctor that you are registered with. All of our Doctors have access to your medical records and you may see any of the Doctors in the practice.

Alternatively, there are other options aside from seeing a Doctor. You could see the Specialist Nurse who is trained to see patients with new problems, especially minor illnesses such as viral and skin infections, minor injuries and coughs/colds and many more. For contraception, blood pressure checks, diabetes, asthma, and many other problems, you can see the Practice Nurses.

Telephone appointments
We are pleased to be able to offer help and advice over the telephone, rather than a face-to-face consultation. Please ask a receptionist to book you a telephone consultation at a time convenient for you. The doctor/nurse will then return your call at the pre-arranged time.

There may be exceptional circumstances when the doctor may not be able to call you at the agreed time, due to emergencies in the practice. However, we will endeavour to minimise this, and inform you if the doctor is called away from the surgery.
