The Practice and its Surrounding Area
The Orchard Medical Centre is situated in Macdonald Walk, just off South Road in Kingswood, Bristol. The number 4, 4A, 5A, 6, 41, 43, 43A, 318, and 319 buses stop in Kingswood town centre, just 150 metres from the medical centre.

Kingswood is a suburban area, within minutes of both Bristol and Bath. We are situated on the outskirts of the city within easy reach of many rural areas. Although the population of South Gloucestershire is generally healthier than average, there are, nevertheless, local issues which include higher than average deprivation in some areas, young single mums, long waiting times in some specialties, lower than average numbers of older people supported at home, and a lack of investment in mental health services.

In 1997 we built a new surgery, which has been a catalyst in the development of the primary care for our registered population. There is car parking adjacent to the building, and in the Somerfield car park opposite. The practice is readily accessible and provides facilities for the disabled. There is a visual and audible call system and the rooms are clearly signposted. We have close links with three local pharmacies, and a range of self-pay complementary therapies including aromatherapy. In the summer of 2003 a NHS dental practice opened within the practice and is situated on the 1st floor.

You can register with us if you live within South Gloucestershire.  However, if you would like to stay registered with a doctor local to where you live, you can also access our services by dropping into the practice.

If you register with us and live within our visiting area you are eligible for a visit.  We regret, we are unable to offer home visiting if you live outside this boundry.  Please ask at reception if you have any queries regarding this.
